Accurately codes charts of discharged patients; abstracts pertinent data; assigns DRGs to inpatient accounts.
Hours: Rotating weekends and possibility of weekends in the future
Minimum Education: High School graduate with courses in Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, ICD 10 CM & ICD 10 PCS coding

Required Certification/Registration: CCS/ CIC, with minimum six months recent coding experience, OR
RHIT or RHIA with at least one year of recent full time coding experience. ,
All candidates must pass a competency exam to qualify.
Physical Requirements: Mostly sedentary with heavy use of computer and code books.
