Supervise, coordinate and participate in providing Point of Care Testing (POCT) services to meet the needs of patients as ordered by the medical staff and performed in accordance with defined regulatory and accreditation standards. Takes charge of the Laboratory in the absence of Director/Manager. Works closely with the Laboratory Quality Managers and Administrative Director to coordinate and standardize operations across the health system to provide excellent patient care. Works collaboratively with leaders at all system locations to standardize POCT at the highest level of quality.
Minimum Education: B.S. degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or related science preferred. M.S degree preferred.
Minimum Experience: Minimum of six years’ experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist. Point of Care experience preferred. Must be proficient in a variety of office software programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
Required Certification/Registration: Current NYS CLT licensure required. ASCP certification preferred. Point of CareTesting (POCT) certification preferred.
Physical Requirements: Travel to multiple facilities is required. Lifts and carries equipment, containers, and specimens. Frequent prolonged standing and walking.
