Under the direction of, and in collaboration with, the Nurse Director, the Clinical Coordinator will coordinate, oversee, and participate in the nursing care activities of the unit. She/he will promote the primary care nursing concept, provide direction, but foster autonomy and critical thinking excellence in the Nursing staff, intervening as necessary to enhance patient outcomes.
Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, currently licensed in the state of NY. Membership in a professional organization is suggested. Bachelor’s required or in process of obtaining with the commitment of completion within 3 years of hire.
Minimum Experience: Minimum of two years experience in the Operating Room.
Charge Experience in the Operating Room preferred. Obtain CNOR within one year.
Required Certification/Registration: Current NYS Registered Nurse license. ACLS, PALS, BLS
Physical Requirements: Close eye work. Manual dexterity and mobility. Moderate work (lifting, moving, loading 15-30. Occasional sedentary work. Mostly standing/walking. Ability to perform full range of motion, i.e., grabbing, lifting, pushing, pulling, light keyboarding, reaching.
Working Conditions: Contact with patients/visitors under a variety of circumstances. Handles emergent/crisis situations. Critical thinking skills (i.e., coordination, integration, dissemination of information to the health care team). Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. Subject to multiple interruptions.
