The System’s three hospital campuses (Garnet Health Medical Center - Catskills (Harris and Callicoon, NY) and Garnet Health Medical Center (Middletown, NY) plus several outpatient facilities, offer a broad spectrum of care including:


Plans, coordinates, directs and monitors activities of Patient Accounting, including Inpatient and Outpatient Accounting functions. Implements strategies to secure reimbursement. Will work closely with the Hospital Revenue Cycle and Finance senior leadership to include CDI, HIM, Revenue Strategy, Case Management, and Registration on all Epic Dashboards to improve processes and work with IT on system optimization. Strong managerial competencies in areas of leadership and team development. Formulates policy and planning of the Patient Accounting to ensure maximum utilization of available resources and enhance receipt of working capital (cash) as economically as possible.


Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business or a closely related field required.


Minimum Experience: Requires 4-6 years of hospital management and accounts receivable experience with a functional knowledge in hospital patient accounts. Demonstrates strong written communication skills including report presentation, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Excel.  Position also requires operational problem solving/decision making skills.  The ability to prioritize, multitask and cope with diverse and complex situations.

  • Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 10 lbs.
  • Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations. May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
